Let it be known that on the 28th of November the Minister of International Cooperation, the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, did announce that the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has become a member of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).
This is an amazing success for our advocacy program and congratulations are in order for all the EWBers who have worked for this over the past year. Thanks especially go to the National Office advocacy team leads, all the advocacy leaders around the country who have met with their MPs and written to local newspapers, and the Advocacy National Team members who have helped to coordinate between the National Office and the chapters.
Signing onto the initiative is just the first step. We look forward to seeing CIDA’s data appearing in the IATI Registry for all the world to see, analyze, and improve.
This signing means a new focus for our advocacy in the new year. I am excited to start learning about the next effectiveness improvement we are going to be pushing for and I hope you are too.
